Arely Diaz

Arely Vega Diaz is a proud Texas Panhandle native, born and raised in McLean, Texas, and a dedicated educational leader who is passionate about serving students, families, and her community.

She began her career in education in January 2013 at Ascension Academy and later that year joined Sam Houston Middle School, where she taught for five years. During her time in the classroom, Arely built strong relationships with students and families and developed a deep love for helping all learners succeed.

Arely earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from West Texas A&M University and later earned her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. She then served as Assistant Principal at River Road ISD’s middle school for three years before stepping into her current role as Principal of Willow Vista Early Childhood Academy.

At Willow Vista, Arely leads a campus serving Head Start through 1st grade, where she is deeply committed to building strong foundations for young learners and creating a school environment where every child feels supported and successful. She is also currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University, continuing her dedication to growth and leadership in education.

Through her campus partnership with WOWW, Arely has seen firsthand the impact that arts, science, and cultural experiences can have on both students and teachers. As a WOWW Board member, she is excited to help expand these opportunities and support meaningful, engaging learning experiences that make a lasting difference in students’ lives.

Outside of her professional role, Arely is a proud mom to two boys, Aryel (9) and Arian (5), who keep her busy on and off the baseball field. As a baseball mom, she spends much of her time cheering them on and embracing the joy and energy they bring to her life. She also enjoys traveling, good food, and music—things that continue to inspire her both personally and professionally.
