Joshua Cunningham

Joshua Cunningham is the Security Operations Senior Director for PanTeXas Deterrence (PXD). In this role he is responsible for Safeguards & Security operations to include Protective Force, Physical Security Systems, Nuclear Material Control and Accountability (NMC&A), Information Security, Classification, Personnel Security, and Security Transformation.

Joshua began his career at Pantex as an engineering technician supporting a large datalogger network. During his almost 19 years at Pantex, Joshua has held several positions including roles in Production Operations, Facility Management, Safeguards & Security, and Global Security and Strategic Partnerships. Through these roles, Joshua has developed core competencies in nuclear operations, nuclear security, facility management, radiation detection, data analysis, research and development, communication, and personnel leadership.

During his tenure at Pantex, Joshua has been the recipient of the General Manager’s Employee Recognition Award for Employee Engagement Initiative, General Manager’s Employee Recognition Award for High Reliability Operations, Defense Program Award for the Stockpile Stewardship Program, and the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Top 20 under 40 Award.

Joshua’s interest outside of work are almost as varied as his work experience at Pantex. When not spending time with his wife Tracy, a fellow scientist and Pantex employee, he divides his time between a variety of hobbies including classic car restorations, deep space astrophotography, gardening, and travel.

Joshua holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from West Texas A&M University.
