Yadira Garcia
Board Member

Although originally from Mexico, Yadira Garcia was raised in a small, Texas panhandle town and continued her education at West Texas A&M University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. Her Hispanic heritage, faith, and values have created in her a woman of passion with a strong work ethic who prides herself in never doing anything by the half. After graduation, her hard-work mentality led her to becoming the marketing coordinator and senior case manager for a law firm headquartered in Amarillo, Texas, where she spent over eight years helping hundreds of families navigate through their immigration journey to becoming part of this country. The need to help those around her led Yadira to her current role in public education as the Community Relations Liaison for Amarillo ISD where she is able to use her talents and background to work in public relations and board services. She relies heavily on her enthusiastic love of event planning, interpersonal communication, policies and procedures, new projects, and community volunteerism and advocacy to excel in any challenge thrown her way. Yadira’s involvement in community and nonprofit organizations keeps her busy by serving on boards and volunteering with several nonprofit organizations including Junior League of Amarillo, Amarillo Education Foundation, Snack Pak 4 Kids, Elevate Amarillo, St. Joseph’s and more. When not at work or filling her schedule with community events, you can find Yadira on the hunt for the best guacamole in the world, taking on weekend DIY projects, traveling, or enjoying live music.
